Development Of A Winner

When I think of what to model in life, I think of

the quiet winners who genuinely profit quietly

instead of the loud "know it all" types who

"flaunt it all". What do I mean? Winning is a

habit that is developed instead of something you

force yourself into quickly through persuading

others that you are a winner. In short, winning or

losing is not based on what others think, but what

you really are. Real profit comes down to quiet

creativity over loud competitive action that says,

"yes, I am a winner" meaning success is quietly

taking what you want instead of keeping up with

others in an attempt to impress people.

When you make others go "oh, look at that, he is

successful" about you, that is the worst thing you

can do in life and existence. When you genuinely

get what you want regardless of what happens

outside of you, that is the best thing you can do

in life and existence. Caring what others think

too much is the height of competition. Doing what

you really want to do with genuinely great results

is the height of creativity. To become a winner

really, requires that sort of genuine creativity

that does not care what others think, but only

realizes and utilizes in a realistic way what is

real about life.

The person "who has it all" has nothing when

living purely by what others think. The person who

"has nothing in the opinion of others", but is

genuinely satisfied with themselves genuinely has

more than the person "who has it all". In fact,

genuine satisfaction with yourself is the only

thing anyone in life and existence can take

seriously about themselves and their lives. Being

"impressive" is not bringing it all to the table

genuinely, but really having what you want really

is bringing it to yourself in the most genuine

way.

I end with the Paul Simon song "Richard Cory" as

an ending quote to fully show the point I am

making. But, the factory worker has more than

Richard Cory, but, like so very many, the factory

worker does not know it until too late. The

genuinely successful few know it early on, and

forget about the Richard Cory types, and achieve

ironically genuine happiness in life that depends

on themselves and not others. Well here is

"Richard Cory":

    Richard Cory

They say that Richard Cory owns one-half of

this whole town

With political connections to spread his

wealth around

Born into society, a banker's only child

He had everything a man could want

    Power, grace and style

But I work in his factory

And I curse the life I'm living

    And I curse my poverty

And I wish that I could be

Oh, I wish that I could be

Oh, I wish that I could be

    Richard Cory

The papers print his picture almost everywhere

he goes

Richard Cory at the opera, Richard Cory at a

show

And the rumor of his party and the orgies on

his yacht!

Oh, he surely must be happy with everything

he's got

But I work in his factory

And I curse the life I'm living

    And I curse my poverty

And I wish that I could be

Oh, I wish that I could be

Oh, I wish that I could be

    Richard Cory

He freely gave to charity, he had the common

touch

And they were grateful for his patronage and

they thanked him very much

So my mind was filled with wonder when the

evening headlines read

"Richard Cory went home last night and put a

bullet through his head"

But I work in his factory

And I curse the life I'm living

    And I curse my poverty

And I wish that I could be

Oh, I wish that I could be

Oh, I wish that I could be
